What do you believe?

There is a Holy & Personal God who invites everyone into a relationship with Him.  We believe God is fully revealed in the Jesus of the Bible. We like to say, “If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus.” Inside of a relationship with Him, God transforms us into the image of Jesus while maintaining our uniqueness as well. We are all under construction and in need of God’s daily power and presence. We believe faith in Jesus begins a life that extends into eternity with God and all who trusted Him. We believe the church exists to help people meet and follow Jesus. We seek to express God’s direction given in Micah 6:8, “Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” We welcome all to join us on the journey to and with God!

Tell me about baptism at WHC

Baptism does not gain us any extra favor with God but is done in obedience to Christ. A person who is ready for baptism has put their trust in Christ and accepted the gift He gave when He died on the cross to cover our sin. Baptism is an outward, public expression of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Click here to let us know you are interested in baptism.

What is Membership?

Those who desire to have an “all in” relationship with Washington Heights Church become formal Members. Membership requires a personal-saving relationship with Jesus and baptism by immersion at WHC or in a like-minded church. Use the Events Tab to register for the next Membership Class.
